Mouse-over

If U like this effect    U will need 2 pictures to achieve this. It's called a mouse-over effect, or if U use frontpage a Dynamic HTML effect......

To do so U will need both

  and

As U will find out, almost every set off buttons is useable for this nice effect......., but how does it work ?

If U work with Frontpage 2000 its very easy, just place the first picture on the site, and choose lay-out, dynamic HTML and choose mouse on object, change picture and choose the other picture, thats all... if U now look at the example page, and U move your mouse over the picture, U will have the same affect s above..

Meta - Tags 1

             How to add Meta Tags in Front Page 2000
Open your page in the Front Page editor and right click on the page.Select Page Properties. Then select the "Custom" tab in the page properties dialog box.In this screen U will have 2 windows. One is to add HTTP-EQUIV and the bottom window for "user defined" Meta tags, such as the keywords and description tag
What is a  user defined Meta Tag?

These are tags such as "keywords" or "description" most commonly used.  These are very simple to add to your page in FP2000.  In the Page properties dialog box, Click the custom tab.  Click the "add" button next to the top window and enter the name and value for the tag U want added. For instance: Robot, title etc.

Keywords would be the name.  For the value enter up to 50 words that describe your page.

Meta - Tags 2

To make it a little bit easy for U i made a nice meta-description for U. All U have to do is change the purple text in the tags following, and change it to your own text. Finally  copy the text and paste it in the HTML mode from frontpage between the 2 </HEAD> from your page..... and your ready to be found

Example

</HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
<META NAME="GENERATOR" CONTENT="Microsoft FrontPage 4.0">
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="FOLLOW,INDEX">
<META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="What is the purpose of the site">
<META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="here U have to fill in the keywords, applying to your homepage ">
<META NAME="TITLE" CONTENT="title of the page">
<META NAME="rating" CONTENT="General">
<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="time for  the revisit, for example 6 days">

<TITLE> © here U can fill in a longer title, som web-searchers work with this title </TITLE>
</HEAD>..

 Make a page automatically jump to a new page
This is done with the Meta " REFRESH" tag. It looks like this :
<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="15;URL=http://www.leejoo.nl">
The text in red indicates the parts of this meta that you will change to meet your needs. The "15" is the number of second before the page jumps to the URL you indicate. Follow the directions above to insert this using FP98 in your FP editor. Or cut and paste the code, customize it and insert it into your code just under the <TITLE> tag.
*Note : "Refresh" is the Name you will enter in the FP page properties dialog box and "15;URL=http://www.leejoo.nl" is the Value you will enter.

Page Transitions

Page Transitions are done using a Meta Tag. This is one of the easiest to create using Front Page 98. The tag looks like this:

<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="revealTrans(Duration=1.0,Transition=23)">

However you do not have to know any of the code for this one with Front Page, nor do you have to open the page properties dialog box. The # 23 in this code indicates the transition "random" this will use a different transition each time the page is loaded.

To add these to your site open a page in your FP editor. Click FORMAT and select "Page Transitions". This will open a dialog box where you can select Page enter, Page exit, Site enter or Site exit to assign the transitions to. Then select which transition you would like to use. The duration of the transition really should not be more then 1 second , so as to not distract your viewers. 1 second is a good choice.

Print Page

If U want the visiter of your Website to print out a page, U have to add a peace of javascript. Don't be scared, it's really simple....

Just add the following script between the <HEAD> sections....

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">

<!-- Begin
if (window.print) {
document.write('<form>to print this page '
+ '<input type=button name=print value="push" '
+ 'onClick="javascript:window.print()"> this page!</form>');

// End -->
</script>

As U will see, in normal mode FrontPage does not show the link, but if U choose the example in the browser.....voila... a button appears to print out the page it's on......
